Hazards Dinner – November 2021

The Dinner was held at The RAF Club in Piccadilly on 26th November.  Sixty eight members and their guests gathered to celebrate the completion of our year and of almost two years of Peter Dyson’s Captaincy.

This years fare was a starter of Cured Salmon followed by Sirloin of Beef and rounded off by Sticky Toffee Pudding – a real feast washed down by the usual high volumes of wine.

Our Captain gave his report to cover the last two years where we had been in and out of lockdown due to the covid pandemic.  He further welcomed our guests  and, in particular, Alan Walmsley, an old friend and member of Formby GC and the R & A.  Alan entertained us with tales of his life in golf and the legal profession and final asked us to rise and toast the health of The Hazards Golfing Society.

Before breaking for a warming spirit to help us on our journey home our President, Chris Sneath, announced next years Captain and his successor as President.  They were to be Richard Blanchflower and Stephen Moore – both of whom received a standing ovation.
