A delightful day at New Zealand against the Chartered Accountants Golf Society led by one of our own, John Gill who, was determined to get a result for the CAGS. Unfortunately for our Society we started badly and fell away losing by 6.5 points to 3.5 to a resolute team of CA’s.
Some may have heard that Chris Gems, had to leave the course feeling unwell. He was later whisked off to hospital for some rigorous tests and stayed in overnight; I am pleased to tell you that he is now recovering at home under the watchful eyes of his wife.
We were blessed by some good weather and I am pleased to say that lunch returned to something like we are used to at this wonderful club.
On a sad note this would be the last Hazards event overseen by Secretary Roger Marrett who will be retiring at the end of July. No doubt we will see him again at some stage but, in the meantime, we wish him well in his retirement and offer our thanks for all the hard work he has done to make our days at New Zealand so memorable.
