Hazards v Elders

The last match of the season saw 16 stalwarts of the Society venture down to Hayling Golf Club for the match against The Elders.  Our Society has several members who claim dual membership so much rests on team selection in the hands of our match manager Max Hunt.

The event has recently turned into a two day affair with members from both sides gathering at Hayling the day before the main event, for a fun round/practice. This years pre cursor was held under damp conditions and we all hoped the murky weather would clear before the main event. Both sides stayed locally gathering for dinner, light refreshments and friendly banter.

The main event was blessed with dry but windy conditions and I am pleased to report that The Hazards were the winners, by 5 points to 3, of the Elson-Dew Salver.

The Trophy was presented in memory of Robin Elson-Dew, a Past President of both Societies, by his wife and family in 2015
