A bright day dawned for our first match of 2019 at New Zealand Golf Club against the Circuit Judges under the leadership of Nick Brown. Nick was standing in for Mick Donnelly who was on holiday, strangely, in New Zealand.
Our morning round was a little disappointing, we trailed by one point as we sat down for the usual splendid lunch. Food and wine were taken in glorious quantity before we set out for an afternoon round of varying lengths. Some starting from the first and others starting from the sixth but all finishing on the eighteenth.
The Hazards golfers fared better in the afternoon and we managed to claw back the deficit to even the match up at 5 points a side.
The course was in splendid condition and, as usual, the reception by the club was as good as ever. All in all a wonderful day.
