Presidents Day Meeting

Thirty-five members supported this event and were blessed with sunny weather and a gentle breeze. Temperatures of around 21 degrees C.
The morning event was for the President’s Salver played on the Old Course that was in pristine condition as the US Open Qualifier which was due to be played a few days after the Hazards tested the course.
For the senior and less able golfers the President’s Putter was also contested off the forward green tees.
The President was present at the 11th green to dispense drinks and nibbles to help the contestants on their way.
Following a wonderful but short lunch the field then paired off for an afternoon of foursomes on the New Course.

The President & John Traynor
The Winner of the President’s Salver was John Traynor with 38 points closely followed by Jeremy Smith with 36 points.
The President’s Putter was retained by Nick Brown with 32 points.

Hazards Salver
In the afternoon Robert Bailey and Mike Roden prevailed with the magnificent total of 40 points, narrowly beating Richard Blanchflower and Nigel Cotterill with 39 points.
Presenting the prizes, the President, Chris Sneath said how pleased he was to see so many attending and thanking the assembled company
