Royal Cinque Ports

Eighteen Hazards gathered on a murky, misty day at Deal for our second meeting of the year.  The weather was cold and a chilling breeze came in from the east but never enough to shift the sea fret that covered most of east Kent that day.

We played in groups of three in the morning to satisfy the club as it was a four ball day.  That said we moved quite quickly, enough to keep warm.  The morning winner and recipient of the Charles Hawkins Cup was Stephen Chappell with 37 points followed by Stephen Moore with 32 points.

An enjoyable three course lunch was taken before returning to the course for a slow greensome as we were forced to follow some funereal fourballs.  Mick Donnelly & Richard Blanchflower narrowly beat Alistair Defriez & Hugh Smith for the afternoon spoils.

All agreed that we had had an enjoyable day at this new venue.  Next years event will be moved to the two ball format with which we are familiar.
