The meeting was proceeded by a small gathering of members on Tuesday for a practice round followed by a stay at the Roundabout hotel about three miles from the course. Those attending much enjoyed the preamble.
Wednesday dawned with overcast skies and light winds. During the morning round there were some brief heavy showers but the afternoon round was rainless.
The morning round was off the white tees for the Alfred Hawes Spoons – winning partnership was the Captain and his guest Tim Thomas from Royal Porthcawl with the splendid total of 40 points. Second were Dugald Patten and the Secretary with a distant 33 points.
Winners in the afternoon were Jeremy McIlroy and Rhodri Thomas on 35 just beating Richard Willacy and Charles Shaw with 34.
West Sussex were very well organised and covid regulations were well attended to – our thanks to the Club and Staff who made us feel very welcome.
